Our staff is a talented, enthusiastic, well-trained, and Jewishly-diverse group of adults with a passion for inspiring kids and teens to learn about themselves and the world around them. All counselors are committed to the Eden Village mission, and are skilled in particular program areas. Bunk counselors are selected for their experience and ability in child care, effective supervision, ability to foster positive group dynamics, and empathy. Program specialists are chosen for their skill as educators and experience in their field.
All staff at Eden Village are required to be at least eighteen years-old, graduated high school, and have experience working with kids.
Our Junior Staff program includes high school seniors who are 17 years old, all of whom are Eden Village West alumni. Our Junior Staff members are trained alongside our staff team, but are supervised when working with our campers and are never the sole care providers for any children at any time.
Prior to the start of camp, the staff has eight immersive days of training. We work in partnership with the American Camp Association to surpass training requirements and adhere to best practices. We follow strict protocols for safety and health throughout camp, including the waterfront, kitchen, health center, overnights, camper supervision, and more.
