We have the responsibility to create safe, loving, and kind communities where each person is appreciated and celebrated. At camp, we inspire a “Culture of Kindness” among our staff and campers. It is a foundational part of our community that paves the way for transformative camper experiences all summer long.
It starts with our staff. We hire counselors, program specialists, and leadership who are excited about radical inclusivity. Once they arrive, we train them in community building, Nonviolent Communication, socialization cycles, conflict resolution, and more. During staff training and throughout the summer our staff model the values we teach to our campers.
Camp is a place where campers are celebrated for being fully themselves. It is a place where campers contribute to building an inclusive, kind, and empowering community for everyone. Camp is a place where campers lift up and support those around them. Together we build a community rooted in a “Culture of Kindness” that makes for a magical summer experience.
