Eden Village West remains firmly committed to the health and safety of our community as our #1 priority.  We are doing everything we possibly can to ensure that camp happens in a safe, positive, and nourishing way, even as the world continues to evolve into post-pandemic times.

Below we have listed the Covid protocols we are requesting our campers and their families follow in the days leading up to camp, along with key information about our in-session protocols.

The Eden Village West community has always been one that models kindness, compassion and a sense of communal responsibility.  We look forward to a healthy and successful summer with your continued partnership, and we thank you in advance for helping to ensure a safe summer for our entire community of staff and campers.

Camper Protocols

Pre-arrival

  • Rapid test one time, 48 hours prior to arrival and submit test photo here

-First Session, Six Week Journey, and Taste of Camp: test on June 18th

-Second Session and Mini Taste of Camp: test on July 10th
  • On Opening Day, campers need to show a negative rapid test that was administered when 15 minutes away from arrival at camp (actual rapid test held up for staff to see). If coming to camp from the south, the town of Windsor is an ideal place to stop and test.
  • Do your best to arrive at camp healthy! For the week prior to arrival at camp, we recommend masking in public (grocery store, public transportation, movie theaters, etc) and avoiding large gatherings

At Camp

  • Masks are optional inside and outside
  • Rapid test daily for first three days after arrival
  • After that, we will test campers with symptoms of COVID at the health center.
  • Anyone with symptoms of illness will be told to wear a mask and check in with the health center.

If symptomatic

1. We will have criteria for when to covid test similar to the following:

1 or more symptoms:

  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Difficulty breathing
  • New olfactory disorder
  • New taste disorder

2 or more symptoms

  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Fever > 100.4 F
  • Chills
  • Headache

2. Test every day until symptoms clear

3. Wear a mask indoors - even if it’s not COVID, we want to limit the spread of germs

4. May be assigned to a pre-quarantine room for sleeping

If Covid positive

  • Must be picked up from camp within 24 hours - will be quarantined until picked up
  • Can return to camp when they have 2 negative rapid tests 24 hours apart, regardless of the number of days that have passed
  • Will be rapid tested on arrival back at camp
